At PBRTC we live our motto, “Serving those who serve others“. Every day, we seek to provide the excellence in training they deserve, with our ultimate goal the protection of those citizens they serve.

The Permian Basin Regional Training Center includes state-of-the-art live fire simulators for LPG emergencies, structural firefighting and hazardous materials situations, among others. Planned for the near future is the world’s only wildland fire live-burn simulator, now in development.

The dream of training the fire service has expanded to include training for industry personnel, law enforcement and emergency medical services personnel. The instruction staff is creating a curriculum to involve multiple agencies in training together toward a more cohesive response to all emergencies within the region.

All fire service courses are being developed to meet National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. In addition, certification programs will be accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) All wildland fire courses will meet standards set by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group.
